  • Cirque, small waterfall, amazing mountain views, and small wildlife (still carry bear spray)

Ram Falls, Alberta - An iconic Alberta waterfall!

  • Easy out and back hike to a stunning 20 m waterfall. The trail starts from the parking lot. One side of the trail opens to a cliff side. Use caution.

  • There are often bighorn sheep along the road and trail.

  • Be prepared if you go as cell reception is spotty, and the nearest gas station is 60kms away.

Gem Lakes, Saskatchewan - Explore Saskatchewan's Aqua Coloured Lakes!

  • 5.5 km trail that loops around seven beautifully coloured lakes.

  • Located within Narrow Hills Provincial Park.

  • Each lake is named for a gemstone and its colour. They have no runoff resulting in a crystal clear lake to the bottom.

  • Make it a day trip, or a multi-day trip by camping at one of three backcountry sites.

Admiralty Point & Belcarra Bluffs BC

Admiralty point and Belcarra Bluffs, BC

Admiralty Point & Belcarra Bluffs BC - Shoreline, or up to the bluffs.

  • This 3km trail with 50m of elevation starts from the Belcarra park picnic area.

  • Easy option: stick to the path close to the shore. Beaches to stop at to play. Forest trail with some roots and rocks and views out over Indian Arm.

  • Moderate/Challenging option: Look for a small turn out on the left after you pass Admiralty Point to turn up the hill to the Bluffs for a higher lookout (this adds 3kms and 200m of elevation)

Amisk Wuche - Located in Elk Island National Park

  • 2.7 km loop

  • small inclines and declines.

  • Amisk Wuche is the Cree name for the Beaver Hills.

  • The trail heads through aspen, birch and spruce trees

  • There are many many floating boardwalks.

  • Lots of birds and potential beaver sightings

Parker Ridge, Alberta - A Stunning Challenge

  • 4.5 km (1.6 mi) out and back

  • A stunning, challenging hike for kids to a beautiful ridge the opens up views to the Saskatchewan Glacier.

  • You will cover 250m of elevation via switchbacks until you reach the ridge.

  • Tip: *Continuing all the way to the lookout does not provide a different view and does have significant cliffs.

Waskesiu River Trail, Saskatchewan - Peaceful River Walk in the Trees

  • 2.5 km loop, 80 m of elevation.

  • Located in Prince Albert National Park

  • Boardwalk, bridges, birds, and wildlife!

  • Peaceful forest setting, the trail meanders through the forest and along the river.

  • The first part of the trail is wheelchair accessible, and stroller friendly. The second part is on a wide trail and all-terrain stroller friendly.

  • A challenge for families, some scree and the top has very steep drop-offs and cliffs.

  • Breathtaking mountain valley views & wildflowers all along. If you can't make the summit it is still a very worthwhile hike. The view at the top is unbelievable

  • This hike is south of a little hamlet called Beaver Mines.
